AMT SS-11 Tube Guitar preamp

The features of SS-11 design:
- Fully tube-based 4 - stage overdrive channel (2x12AX7 tubes) with high-voltage anode voltage (+300 V).
- Three separate channels: CLEAN / CRUNCH / LEAD. CRUNCH and LEAD channels have common tone-unit with individual sensitivity and output level controls as well as separate Treble-SHIFT toggle switches.
- FX LOOP for external effects;
- OUTPUT jack for connecting to both specialized guitar amplifiers with a standard level of 0 dB (GUITAR AMP mode) and a mixer with a standard level of -10dB and a guitar cabinet simulation (OUT CAB . S. mode)
- The preamp outputs are equipped with sophisticated solid-state buffers providing not only the enrichment of the signal with lower harmonics but also smooth transition into additional light limitation inherent in the vacuum triode-based devices.
- SS-11 incorporates new field-effect transistor-based guitar cabinet emulator possessing improved naturalness of sound when connected to line input
Special attention was paid to transistors anode power quality: preamp uses a specially designed high-voltage transformer minimizing the penetration of impulse noises into amplified signal.
Description of SS-11 Channels
Lead channel possesses sound overdrive supply, provides thick viscous sound for playing both aggressive rhythm parts and singing solos with excellent readability.
Crunch channel features lesser overall sensitivity and a more open structure of the sound. Wide range of sensitivity adjustment results in the sound starting from light crunch to thick and bright Lead channel-like sound.
Clean channel focuses on the classic clean sound with a slight limitation in maximum sensitivity level and crystal clarity and brightness within the zone of moderate sensitivity values. CLEAN channel has a separate 3-band volume / tone control, adjustable sensitivity and output level plus Bright toggle switch.
