    Question:
    Sound differences in SS series
    1) Is SS-20 (described heavy sounding) and SS-11B (also described heavy) is in fact as "heavy" in sound character as the other or "heavier"?

    2) Can you somehow describe the difference in sound nature between the above mentioned?

    3) I'm attracted to modern kind of sounds but I'm not really a metalhead if you get me. I fear that if I'll get what's tagged as modern voiced, so will be my sound spectrum, confined by that. So in a manner of widest flexibility to genres and sounds, would you recommend choosing the SS-11A ( --> I mean, can it get somewhat heavy/modern if desired, using extreme settings?) or the other SS-11B/SS-20 ( --> I mean, can they get softer/"classic" with right settings?)

Sorry for the long questions, it's really important for me, and thx! =)

    Answer:

    1. SS-11B "heavier"

    2. It is difficult to describe sound with words. In any case, it is desirable to you to listen to these devices before buying.

    3. Many depends on your playing technique. As SS-20 and SS-11B is very versatile tools for all styles of play, it is our opinion.

    Question:
    Ss11a vs b
I'm looking for an SS 11a all over the place but here in Europe it's pretty much impossible to find it but the B version I can find. My question is if the difference is all that great ( bear in mind that I'm not a metal head and the "brootalz" is a little "scary" so to speak. Cheers

    Question:
Connecting AMT California Sound to Legend Amps F1
    Hi,
I need to know whether it is recommended to use California Sound in front of the F1 (via the F1's CH-SEND/CH-RETURN) ?
If it is not, why ?

    Many thanks

    blind, 07.07.2011 10:59:30
    Answer:
AMT California Sound - this effects pedal, Legend Amps F-1 - is a guitar preamp. Plug the AMT California Sound directly into the "INPUT" of the Legend Amps F-1, so you get the expected result.
    Question:
    M-1 into audio-interface
    I heard the demo,it's amazing!Mostly,I record some stuff at home,can I run like this : Guitar->M1 cab sim out->audio interface ? Because my audio interface has a instrument input(TS,500K ohms)and a XLR(1.8K ohms)。So,does the impedance fits the M1?
1.If it doesn't,will it sound noisy? Or just a lower volume? do I need a DI box?
    2.If it fits...lucky me~! lol

    Thanks~! You guys rock~!
    Amos, 05.07.2011 03:19:10
    Answer:
Yes, you can connect to AMT M-1 release CAB.SIM. directly in the line-in sound card (do not plug in the mic). To connect the M-1 use the input of a sound card with high input impedance.
    Question:
    L.A. V1 effects routing
First of all, thanks for your really innovatory products.

I own a L.A. V1, that I run together with my Marshall DSL50, so to get an additional clean channel, and I'm very happy with the sound I get from it.
Anyway I would like to connect it in a way that could allow me to get an effect (a chorus in this case) that is associated only to the V1/clean channel, but if I connect the chorus to the fx loop of the V1, I also get chorus(ed) sound even when switching to the preamp of my DSL

To resume it: could I find a way to connect the V1 to the DSL 50 (serial loop) and get the chorus effect only when using the V1 channel??

    Thanks a lot

    Question:
    ss-11b.Bybass cab sim?
Can i bybass cab sim connecting ss-11b direct to sound card?I use impulse responses for cabs.
    Thanks.
    Nik, 30.06.2011 13:11:29
    Answer:
Yes, you may send a signal to the SS-11 passing cab. sim. At the same time closely control the output signal level of SS-11 by LEVEL control for each channel, so as not to overload the input of your sound card.
    Question:
    AMT m1
Hi, I like the demo in youtube of AMT m1 by burgermann & sergey. I almost buy the product here in Philippines. Unfortunately, I tested it and did'nt get the same result/sound.

I am using Cakewalk UA-1G for my interface connection to logic.

I tried this in the store:

    Guitar > M1 > UA-1G > Logic

But there is so much noise and I can't get that Marshall sound the way the demo in this site and you tube has. Could you help me pls. I'll go back to test it again after your response. Thanks!

Planning to get the SS20 too :)
    Joms, 29.06.2011 18:24:00
    Answer:
You plug the AMT M-1 to the very sensitive input on your Cakewalk UA-1G, not intended for connection preamp. To connect to a Cakewalk UA-1G, use the output AMT M-1 labeled CAB.SIM. and control the output signal level AMT M-1 by the LEVEL knob.
    Question:
    SS 11A
    Aslan, 28.06.2011 19:42:02
    Answer:
Нет, так подключать нельзя. Читайте внимательно руководство по эксплуатации данного прибора. Если бы такая возможность была, мы бы обязательно указали на это.
    Question:

I found two different AMT California Sound Distortion products while searching on the internet as shown on this picture http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/505/amtcaliforniasound.jpg

    The differences shown are:
    - The orientation of the label "CHECK"
    - Dots around the pots
    - Text on circle around the stomp-switch (this is the most interesting)

Which one is your original products?

    Regards

    blind, 28.06.2011 19:06:36
    Answer:
Both the original pedal. Left pedal is available now, the pedal on the right - this version of the early 2000s.
    Question:

hi, could you please explain the difference between ss20 and ss11, i want to buy one of these but cant decide which one, and dont know why does ss20 cost more...
    Vuk, 27.06.2011 22:29:01
    Answer:

SS-20 it is constructed on 1 tube 12AX7 (6N2P-EV RUS), SS-11A it is constructed on 2 tube 12AX7 (6N2P-EV RUS). On character of a sound they are various both in Clean and in Crunch / Lead.

The higher price for SS-20 is, apparently, the marketing policy of your distributor.

    Question:
    Power
    Hello ..

Can I use 9v power in F1? Is there any difference between 9v and 12v sound? What is the real consumption of the pedal?
    Fabio, 20.06.2011 19:22:13
    Answer:
Yes, for an F-1 pedal, you can use the power supply DC9V. Sound when powered from 9V and 12V will be slightly different. Consumption of F-1 does not exceed 6-8mA.
    Question:
What is the type of the EQs of Legend Preamp Series ?
    active or passive ?
    Thanks ! ;)

    Question:
    about ss-20
this pre-amp really sounds great! It works fine with a power amp with Fx mix button. But i found that the clean sound is very small with a amp without Fx mix (plug in return). Is it a problem with serial or parallel loop???or something else???
    jack sit, 04.06.2011 22:37:42
    Answer:
    SS-20 has a serial loop.
We assume that the problem in your case, with power amp. Try to find another amp (having an input RETURN) and connect the SS-20 OUTPUT to RETURN of the amplifier

    Question:
    SS-11a Tubes
    Hi there,

I've been loving the SS-11a preamp, so kudos to an excellent product!

I've been recommended to try different tubes on the preamp which could improve the sound, so I bought a pair of Tungsol 12ax7 tubes. However, once I replaced them, the preamp wouldn't work! I tried a total of 3 pairs of 12ax7 and they wouldn't work.
I inspected the original tubes and I noticed a label with 6H2N-EB on the tubes. Are these different from 12ax7? are they inter-changeable? I'd expect the 12ax7s to work since it's written on the site as well as the manual that 12ax7s are used.

    Any assistance much appreciated!
    Johann, 31.05.2011 17:12:34
    Answer:

Tubes 6Н2П-ЕВ and 12AX7 designed for different heater voltage. Therefore, when replacing the tube type, you must change the jumper on the PCB.

When replacing tubes, you should be guided by the following figure:

Tube replacement jumper positions in the SS-11 pedal

    Question:
    SS-20 with F-1
    Hi,
I have an SS-20 and I would like to have clean sounds and lead sounds with different effects (example: chorus for clean and delay for lead). I was thinking about buying an F-1 (or V-1) and connect as follow:
    Guitar>input F-1 and then:
    - On F-1 FX loop side: send F-1> chorus> return F-1
    - On F-1 channel loop side: send F-1> input SS-20> send SS-20 > delay > return SS-20> output SS-20 to return F-1.
    2 questions:
    1/ is this correct?
2/ if this is correct, when the F1 is off, the channel loop should be active with delay effect. Is the chorus in the F-1 FX loop still active?
    Thanks

    Youssef, 29.05.2011 05:13:50
    Answer:

1 - yes, this is the correct connection.

2 - yes, FX Loop F-1 will be always active, including for external channel (CH Send - CH Return) F-1
